Introduction

Dongtou Island Scenic Resort, also known as “Hundred Island County”, is located at the mouth of the Oujiang River, 16 kilometers away from Wenzhou, facing the East China Sea. Composed of 168 islands，with beautiful mountains and unique sea scenery, Dongtou is a seaside tourist resort and a national AAAA tourist attraction, known as one of the best coastal photography sites in China.

It has many scenic attractions, including the Mount Banping, Xiandie Rock, Daqu Island, Bamboo Islet, Haizhong Lake and Dongsha. Famed for its picturesque natural views, it has been praised as the Bright Pearl in East China Sea.

The environment in Dongtou is excellent and famous for its bright sunshine, crystal clear air, pleasant breeze, unique island scenery and charming reefs. Wang Buxiao, a poet in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) was addicted to its beautiful hills and sea scenery and described this place as a fairyland of immortals. He thought if one could have had the chance to live here even for a short time, they would have felt they were living in paradise.

Mount Banping is the most attractive spot in Dongtou County and is famed for its charming landscapes, which roll into the sea. With the combination of sea cruises and marine culture, Dongtou Island together with Mount Yangdang and the Nanxi River forms a perfect tourist triangle route of “mountain-river-sea” in Wenzhou.
