Introduction
Ningbo Youngor Zoo is a wildlife zoo located in the beautiful Dongqian Lake Tourist Resort, covering an area of 1,900 mu (1 mu equals 666.67 sq m). It is one of the largest animal zoos in China, and has 10,000 animals of about 200 species from all over the world, including a great number of rare and endangered species, such as rhinoceros and zebras from Africa, kangaroos from Australia and white lions from Asia.
Taking good advantage of the Dongqian Lake, the zoo initiated a unique animal-viewing route on water, allowing visitors to sit in boats to watch herbivorous animals in the zoo, and enjoy the great view of the lake at the same time. The zoo is very large and animal habitats are scattered among the man-made mountains, hills and ponds. It’s worthy of taking a day off to come here to glimpse into the lifestyle of wild animals in their habitats, and enjoy the zoo amusements, especially with children.
Wolong Cave covers an area of more than 3,000 sq km in the Youngor Zoo. Its artificially simulated sound and light give visitors a vivid description of what the world was like during the Mesozoic Era, when the Earth was inhabited by dinosaurs. The zoo also provides various recreation programs to amuse visitors with interesting animal performances. With use of modern equipment and a well-designed natural environment, it is no wonder that both adults and children can have fun here.
