Introduction
With the location in Banshan Street, Gongshu District, Hangzhou City , Banshan Mountain Park covers an area of 41 hectares. As an open municipal park, which incorporates ecology, culture, relaxation, and tourism, it’s become one of the mountainous parks that perfectly integrate unique landscapes with rich human resources.
Banshan Mountain Park was built and opened to public in 2008. On September 29 in 2010, Banshan Mountain Park, Dragon Mountain Park, and Tiger Mountain were linked together to form the huge Banshan Mountain Forest Park. The forest park covers an area of 172 hectares and has trails covering 23 kilometers.
On September 24, 2013, Hangzhou Banshan Mountain Park was given the title of National Ecological Civilization Educational Base.
It has become the national forest park, not only for its marvelous landscapes but also for its human cultural sites, which are also excellent. Emperors Qinshihuang, Gaozong, Kangxi, and Qianlong have all visited here. It has also recorded the patriotic story of national hero, Wentianxiang, and poetries of literati such as Baijuyi, Sudongpo and Yudafu. With the inheritance of the eight customs such as enjoying peach blossoms and temple fairs, it has the most cultures among Hangzhou’s mountains.
