Introduction

Six Caves Mountain Scenic Area, located in the northeast of the Dongyuan Village, Lingdong Village, the east of Lanci City, is 8 kilometers away from the downtown and covers a large area of 8.5 sq. km.. It was listed as the first group of the provincial scenic areas by Zhejiang government in 1985 and was reputed as National AAA Level scenic area in 2004. It is world-renowned for its magnificent mountains, elegant waters, grotesque caverns and tranquil temples. From the name, we can easily know that the mountain contains six caves, Cloud Cave, Purple Sunglow Cave, Spraying Snow Cave, Bottomless Cave, Hehe Cave and Funnel Cave, all of which are distinctive and classical Karst landforms. Xu Xiake, the famous traveller in ancient times, has twice been here and marveled at the sceneries according to his Dairy of Travelling in Zhejiang. The scenic area collects natural sceneries, Karst landforms, celebrity relics and religious tourism, and the most notable attractions are Underground River, Yixia Garden and Qizhen Temple. Since 1985, the open to the outside, it has recieved more than four million people and wined many reutations.
