Introduction

Taizhou Ocean World, located at northwest part of the city, is a large-scale ocean cultural theme park mainly presenting marine and rare freshwater life, and is famous for its large scale depictions of marine life types and is also the highest construction of Ocean World in China. Taizhou Ocean World covers an area of 15.5 mu and the gross floor area has now reached 8903 sq.m, with over 1,000 species of ocean life presented and the actual number at over 10,000. It harmoniously merges ocean animal presentation, sea lion performance, education on popularity of science with leisure and entertainment, tourism and shopping. In 2009, Taizhou Ocean World was listed as a national AAAA level tourist attraction.

The attractions include the Ocean Carnival, Tropical Rainforest Hall, Coral Reef Life Hall, Subsea Tunnel Hall, Ocean Flavor Hall, Ocean Science Classroom and Ocean Cinema. On the Fifth floor is the Ocean Theater, an entertainment and relaxation place, which can accommodate 1,000 audience members. There are performances such as the seal show and sea lion comic show. The fourth floor is where the Rainforest Hall is located, and it includes the Amazon Rainforest Section, Southeast Asia Section, African Section and the rare Fish Section. The third floor is the Coral Reef Life Hall including the sea water-eroded cave section and seawater rare fish section, where visitors can appreciate dozens of precious and unique coral reef fish. What’s more, there is a Touch Pool for visitors to enjoy close contact with dogfish, ancient China horseshoe crabs, and sea turtles. The second floor is the Subsea Tunnel Hall, which takes visitors into a 50-meter-long below sea tunnel to watch marine landscapes as beautiful fish swim around. There is a wonderful “Mermaid Legend” show with colorfully dressed mermaids. In addition, visitors can also see tens of thousands of colorful sea fish compete for food with fierce conflicts, adding to the captivating nature of ocean life. The first floor is a paradise for children, with a fish-playing pool where they can catch fish and play. It is also a place to do some shopping for children. Taizhou Ocean world is indeed a wonderful and fantastic activity center!
