Introduction

China Celadon Town, often referred to as Shangyang Town, Longquan City, Zhejiang Province, is the origin of contemporary Longquan Celadon and its core is Piyun Celadon Cultural Park. With a large investment and five-year construction, it covers a large area of 400 mu (1 mu roughly equals 666 sq m) and benefits a larger area of 3.2 sq km. As China’s first and only tourist area themed with celadon culture and a National AAAA Level Tourist area, it displays the development of modern and contemporary Longquan celadon which is on the basis of state-owned Longquan celadon factory.

Shangyang Town, located in the junction of Zhejiang Province, Fujian Province and Jiangxi Province, has been a vital artery for business since ancient times, thus, making the porcelain handicraft boom in the ancient times. There are lots of ancient kilns in the town, and the most famous among them is the Zengqinji Dragon Kiln. It has the longest continuous burning time and has been used for more than one hundred years from Guangxu years. Besides that, Liji Kiln and Zhangji Kiln are both reputed as time-honored brands with unique kilning secret.

According to functions, it can be divided into three areas: esthetic area, experience area and leisure area. The esthetic area shows the one-thousand-year history of celadon culture mainly through the “Traces of Celadon” theatre. The experience area is the research and production center of Longquan celadon including manual workshop, creative base, Longquan celadon traditional craft heritage center and so on. In leisure area, tourists can have fun in international exchange center, shopping mall, international pottery village and other attractions, while enjoying the best service such as dining, colorful entertainment, comfortable accommodation and leisure tea.
