Introduction

Zhujiajian is the fifth largest island in the Zhoushan archipelago, and is known as a national scenic area, covering an area of 72 sq km. Together with Mount Putuo, Shenjiamen and Peach Blossom Island, Zhujiajian scenic spot makes up the Putuo Golden Tourist Triangle route in Zhoushan. It is famous for its natural landscapes and beautiful beaches, reputed to be a “national sea island ecological park”, and also one of the most dynamic tourist resorts in East China.

Zhujiajian is a place for relaxation and romance where visitors can appreciate verdant trees, strange rock formations and mysterious Buddhist temples. It consists mainly of Kwan-yin Culture Garden (Mount Baishan), Wushitang, Mount Daqingshan and Nansha scenic spots.

The most remarkable attraction in Zhujiajian is the “Golden Sand Beach", which is the largest sand beach in East China, stretching about 5 km long. It is composed of five delightful beaches, Nansha, Dongsha, Qiansha, Lisha, and Qingsha, among which Nansha is the most charming. With its soft and pure sand, Nansha is the perfect place for making sand sculptures. The annual Zhoushan International Sand Sculpture Festival is held here everySeptember since 1999 and has become a key event in the Zhoushan tourism calendar. Wushi Tang is also an interesting spot at Zhujiajian. The beach features black pebbles but no soft sand. It is a good choice for visitors wanting to enjoy a gorgeous sea experience at nighttime. All in all, Zhujiajian is an ideal resort island for sightseeing and vacationing.
